Our Team

All of the staff at the Atlantic Cat Hospital have a deep and abiding love of cats, understanding their unique needs. Ongoing continuing education helps staff to meet those needs. Gina completed a special Dentistry course in May of 2012 to fine-tune her skills in caring for your feline friend’s oral health.

Sandy's smile brightens our front desk when you walk through the door. With over 20 years in the industry she is the perfect example of a "head receptionist". Ready and willing to help you with your food purchases, scheduling an appointment or answering your questions.

Sara-Dawn L.

-Veterinary Assistant

Sara-Dawn was born and raised in River John, NS. She moved to HRM to study Veterinary Assisting at the Centre for Health Studies where she graduated in June 2015. Sara did a studnet work-term at ACH and was hired on as a Veterinary Assistant after completing her course. She has been an integral part of our team ever since.

Although Sara loves all animals she has always had a special fondness for felines and is extremely happy working with cats at ACH! She can be found both caring for patients in hospital or helping clients in reception.

When not at the clinic Sara likes playing the snare drum in a bagpipe band, swimming and photography; with a focus on pets of course. She also enjoys spending time with her family. For now, Sara and her boyfriend Dustin have settled in HRM with their two purrfect cats Luna and Olive. 

Susan P.

-Veterinary Assistant

Hailing from St. Anthony, NFLD, Susan moved to Halifax to attend school at the Centre for Health Studies and graduated as a Veterinary Assistant in December, 2014. She started at ACH as a practicum student and has been a fantastic addition to our team!

Susan is versatile in all aspects of the clinic and caring for animals has been her passion since she was young. When not at work Susan enjoys exploring the Nova Scotian outdoors with her dog and ferret. 

Susan currently resides in Halifax with her fiance Ash, their beloved beagle Luna, hamster Callie, and their newest addition Leo the ferret. 

Tanisha W.

- Veterinary Assistant (Part Time)

Tanisha graduated from The Centre for Health Studies in 2013 and joined our team as a Veterinary Assistant in 2014. Tanisha plays many vital roles in the hospital and gives much needed support to the whole team. Whether she is taking care of healthy felines, nursing a sick patient, or monitoring patients under anesthesia, everyone benefits from her great attitude and exceptional skills.

Tanisha shares her home with her boyfriend Alex and they are owned by two cats Euro and Chewie. Outside of work Tanisha enjoys spending time with friends and family, visiting her home town in the South Shore, and mudding or exploring in the forrests with Alex.

Samantha B.


Samantha grew up in the country; Falmouth, NS and has always had a love for animals. She studied to become a Veterinary Technician at Maritime Business College where she graduated in August 2016, only one month later she became a great addition to the ACH family. 

Sam can be found in surgery, treating patients, recovering surgical and sick patients, as well she often uses the microscope to help the Veterinarian diagnose sick kitties. As an RVT Sam has many roles and she is a vital part of patient care in the clinic. 

When Sam has spare time she likes to spend it playing hockey, running and the majority of it with her family, mostly in an outdoor setting. Her family consists of her daughter Alexis, partner Dennis, dog Bella and three sister cats named Dakota, Moo and Sookie.

Gina is a Registered Veterinary Technician who completed her Animal Health Technology diploma at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. She has been a part of the ACH team since July 1999.
